SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES IN MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL 2018

Implementing the 2018 plan and encouraging children in special and difficult circumstances, children affected by natural disasters, children have overcome the fate to achieve good academic achievement, helping children integrate into the community, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) has carried out number of activities to assist 12,472 children on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival with the budget of 829 million VND.

In Dak Lak, on the evening of September 21, 2018, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children in collaboration with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Dak Lak province, the provincial Fund for Children organized the program Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2018 for 700 children of ethnic minorities, children with special circumstances and difficulties in the province of Dak Lak. Attending the program were the Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh, Mr. Tran Phu Hung - Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Dak Lak province, Mr. Hoang Van Tien - NFVC's Director, the provincial departments and services and 700 representatives of ethnic minorities children in Dak Lak province.

At the program, hundreds of children have been immersed in the atmosphere of Mid-Autumn Festival with lion dance, the Mid-Autumn Festival breaking, the appearance of Hang sister, Cuoi brother and other special songs... The children were also presented 700 gifts (candies, lanterns) from the sponsorship of Bao Hung Confectionery Company through the NFVC.

In addition, the program organizers have awarded 5 educational safety insurance (worth 20 million VND/child), 150 scholarships and schoolbags, 50 bicycles for studious children with special circumstances. The total support for ethnic minority children in difficult circumstances is over  1 billion VND from the sponsors through the NFVC.

In An Giang province, on the evening of 23 September, 2018, the NFVC in coordination with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of An Giang Province presented gifts to children in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival for children in 2018.

On this occasion, the NFVC granted 60 scholarships to disadvantaged children (1 million VND each) and presented 390 mid-autumn gifts (including lanterns, cakes and milk, each worth 150,000 VND). The total amount support for Mid-Autumn Festival in An Giang is nearly 120 million VND, funded by Dai-ichi Vietnam Life Assurance Company Limited and local sponsors.

In Vinh Long province, on September 24, 2018, Vice Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha - Standing Member of the NFVC's Sponsoring Council directly presented bicycles to 50 difficult studious children in the program "Education security  - bicycle to school" of Bao Viet Life Company in collaboration with the NFVC with the aim at encouraging children to continue striving for good results in their studies.

In other provinces and cities: Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Son La, etc., the NFVC coordinates with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to pay visits and hand over gifts to children in special and difficult circumstances  on the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Supporting activities for the Mid-Autumn Festival for disadvantaged children of the NFVC received participation of the Party and State leaders and the support of donors...
